In June 2015, we started a new project: Horta CL ("CL Garden"). Some time later, and with new opportunities, possibilities and a new space, it evolved into what is today Sítio CL ("CL Site").

 

The Sítio functions as a place to establish a new routine and to develop the workers' skills and self-esteem. We have built and maintained the Sítio based on partnerships with members of Casa CL and also with other volunteers who live on the streets but who are looking to create healthy bonds while seeking support for housing or hospitalization.

 

This work together has helped us identify people who really want to develop a new lifestyle- people who seek clean growth. Work dignifies the worker, and this can be clearly seen and felt at Sítio CL.

Horta CL also provides healthy interaction between CL friends and the general public. The neighborhood comes to the garden daily to buy their vegetables and enjoy the beautiful work that is done by our friends. The workers end up creating friendships with the neighbors who come to the garden and thus further develop their sense of social inclusion.
