About
CL House
A halfway house
Many homeless people would like to be able to start a new life. And most of society would like this to happen too. What is stopping this?
People who live on the streets cannot present themselves well for a job interview, they do not have an address to put on their resume, nor the moral support to keep trying until they get a job. Furthermore, those who do not have a clean record, even if they do get a job, have to pay two or three months' rent in advance to rent a house. These and other obstacles make the process of changing their lives difficult. Our society is simply not structured to support the rise of those who have hit rock bottom.
We believe that everyone who wants to recover from homelessness and drug addiction should have a real chance to make that dream come true. That's why we created Casa CL to be a home for assisted living. We welcome people from therapeutic communities, hospitals, other institutions, or directly from the streets, who are not using alcohol or drugs.
Casa CL’s specific focus is on social reintegration: returning to society, with a work routine and independence. Each resident receives a bed and personal closet, in a room with a maximum of three roommates, and a chance to start over. We also provide support from a social worker, a psychologist, and a safe and supportive environment for their development. Our team of monitors is always available to help put together a resume, give tips on the challenges of each day, or simply to listen to our friends at the Casa.
Our residents do not pay rent to live at Casa CL, but as part of the program, they open their own savings account and make monthly and cumulative deposits of one-third of their income. In this way, as an active financial plan, they develop the habit of setting aside money for rent and other future costs that they may have, and we facilitate their transition process from Casa CL, so that in the future they will be financially prepared and responsible tenants.
Anyone who wants to start over will find the foundations, a support team and all the support they need to do so.
Come and see
You are welcome
